Had a little time to get it in the shop this evening.
It had one of those weird aftermarket manifolds on
it that the studs won't reach so it was bolted on.
The rear two bolts were 3/8, the next was 1/2,
the front one 5/16. This is where the crack and the leak were.
It appears that the second hole back was drilled and tapped.
It did not leak.
The front one looks like it has a slim-sert JB welded in.
Best I can tell the crack didn't leak but the bolt did.
The front one could probably be drilled out and tapped.
I'm pretty sure the engine is stuck, but not sure how badly.
Looking through the spark plug holes I see some shiny new
valves. Like, never ran, new. But only half of them.
Both on one cylinder, one each on two other cylinders.
I'm not going to fix the block, I have enough projects at the moment.
If anyone close enough to pick it up has any interest in the
engine whole or otherwise make me an offer. Email should be open.
The wiring looks like fun too! Not to mention the NAA floorboard.
That's a brick in the toolbox and it's falling out on its own.
I'm not at all mad though. It was advertised as having a bad
engine and purchased with that understanding.
I was after some of the other parts.
