What size oil rings?

I'm trying to order new rings for my dads old 8n.
After the tear down, we realized the sleeves are not
bad. (No scaring, no ridge at top, and smooth.) It
was rebuilt not too long ago but dad ran it hot
several times and the oil rings were stuck so it
smoked like crazy. Still ran fine and had good
compression. Just smoked so we wanted to fix that.
Anyway after getting into it, he is determined to just
put new rings and inserts in with a light hone to
reseat the rings.
My question is this. Which set of rings do I buy. I
have miced the piston and the oil ring channel on
the piston measures .187. The oil rings are
available in 3/16 or 5/32. I wouldn't think these need
to fit super tight in the grove but then that is very
close between the two available ring sizes.
Any help from someone with experience would be
awesome.
Thanks

PRARIEOUTLAW,5/32" would be 0.1563 and 3/16 would be 0.1875 so I would say that yours are 3/16 oil rings. Also check your piston ring rail to ring clearance on the compression rings (very important and often over looked)Below is a good link to fitting rings to help you out.
