governor lose

What is the best to fix a governor that is lose where the linkage hooks up to the governor on a 8n tractor, without putting a new one on it because they are really expensive.It is really loose.

I made a crutch for mine. Metal piece attached to timing cover and rivet on arm slides
against this metal. Been working for aver 40 years.

Is there anyway to put in a new bushing the governor housing to take out the slack out of those levers.
