No oil pressure

Hi gents I have a 1950 ford 8N that has not been run in over a couple of years and I am trying to get it running again and I am having problems with (No Oil Pressure). I've replaced the oil gauge on it and no luck. Can you tell how I can get the oil Pressure back up on this tractor. Thanks

You have to prime the oil pump. In the front of the engine, toward the top of the timing gear cover, there is a ( I THINK) 15/16" nut, you have to take out, but watch out for a spring and plunger in there, so you don't lose them. Take a pump oil-can with a flexible nozzle and pump some 80-90 wt oil in there and then put the spring and plunger back in. That will prime the oil-pump.

Hdltch,The easiest place to prime the oil pump is remove the oil pressure line from the oil gauge and use a pump oil can with a small hose on it and attach it to the oil line. This has worked many times for me,or remove the brass fitting in the rear of the block and put the oil in there, just more work.Use a heavy motor oil or 90# and it will also lube the bearings from the oil galley. You could even use a pump up garden sprayer,or I use a pressurized flush gun. Replace the oil line to the gauge and start it up.You should get oil pressure just by cranking it over before start up.
