UTS hydraulics

An off the wall hydraulic question.

Im primarily a cow calf farmer and chop and bag corn silage for winter feed. Being I getting up in years it gets to be a VERY long day climbing on and off tractors all day feeding the bagger, and sure would be nice to use one of my UTs instead of a 6420 Deere.

My question is. Would a UT hydraulic system run a orbital motor that I would use to run the PTO of the Forage boxes to feed the bagger. One step up to the platform and go would save lots of miles on my carcass at the end of a day.

Basicly looking for Hydraulic live PTO for a UTS.

Please be specific with any other ideas.

Many Thanks.

You have two issues running hyd motors with open center systems. 1. Will the pump generate enough flow x volume to do job? 2. Heat build up. Used to use a 520 JD or IH 350 to run auger on fert wagon. Oil had an hour or so to cool between fills. If oil gets too hot it will cavitate as pump will lose prime. Good way to get moisture out of oil though!

A "U" hydraulic system not strong enough to run a orbit motor. A "U" was built before orbit motors came in to being. Your simplest solution might be to find a Char-lyn PTO pump and valve unit. There are some around.
