MM M5 OIL LEAK OUT OF PTO

I am getting a very small oil drip out of the PTO shaft area. It appears to be the Hyd. oil as my Hyd. oil level goes down. I would have thought that area of the tractor would have the heavier rear end oil and not the Hyd. oil.

Also probably not an easy fix for a leak around the PTO shaft seal..

You must have an early M5 with just one line coming out of the hydraulic pump?

It is an early model MM M5 but is it hyd. oil or heavy rear end oil that would leak out thru the PTO shaft area??????

If hydraulic it is oring between pump and rearend or O ring on top between Teleflo and rearend. Or could be hydraulic pump shaft seal gone dumping hydraulic oil into rear end. Rearend should have 80 or 90 w oil. You will have to check closer.

Wash the area all off clean, and watch closely to see exactly where the oil is coming from. Always check the highest point.
