PTO lever disconnected

This is reviving a previous post that's been pushed down.
I was running a flail mower when my pto control lever became disconnected. It rotates with no resistance and won't shut anything off.
Manual says to remove the hydraulic unit to access the PTO area. Is there any other way and is this the drain plug for the hydraulic fluid?

Taking the hydraulic unit off is the only way access the pto parts. They arent real difficult to take off. Im guessing the 335s are the same as the 445s, if so there is a small pipe with O rings on it that is set half in the transmission and half in the hydraulic unit. It connects the reservoir to the hydraulic pump. It is possible that the large nut that holds the pto clutch together came loose and parts moved that your fingers for the lever came out.
