445 backrest cushion angle

Got the 445 in the shop for some work. Were the backrests on them pretty much straight up and down or is there a slight angle backwards on them? With the thinner backrest cushion it doesnt do much. Im guessing the originals must have been about 4 inches thick? Ive seen some pictures where it looks like it is thicker on the sides than the middle and some where they look like they are just straight across.

Original cushion on backrest sits basically straight. Original hasn't been available since early 60's. Basically same cushion as the JD 1950's seats.
 
What you have in the picture is pretty much what I have on my 445, if that helps any. Mine only had about 1/2 the plywood on it when I got it, though. If I ever paint it, I am going to make a sheet metal back cover for the cushion, paint it and put a MM decal on it. Not original, but its mine.
 
Here is what was on mine. I can get you some measurements for the plate with the MM if you need them.
