Picked this up yesterday as a project. Was running a few years ago got everything drained and pulled the side cover off to have a peek inside and flush crankcase. Gonna check the governor out and plastigauge the bearings. Teach says 3999.2 hrs. Was told everything worked obviously she has a few leaks but got parts ordered from welters. Should be running by Friday...I hope lol.

Well got it going by Sunday afternoon. Filed the points new fluids starter solenoid rebuilt carb and she popped off. Amazing how good this thing runs. Now off to get the leaks all squared away. Kind of an ugly ole thing but that's why I like it...and the loader. Been really useful around here already.
 
the old girl looks like a very handy chore tractor J.A.R., these old minne's just keep on rolling! my m-5 just amazes me after sitting close to 20 years in the tree line we cleaned it up, new fuel, battery, carb kit, and repair the rotten wiring it fired right up on the first revolution :D

Howard, that's one of my brothers RTUs spun a rod bearing still waiting on crank. That one is kinda on the back burner for now I got some tinkering to do yet on my 670 diesel...and now this 4star lol. Gotta get em ready for second hay crop.
 
Super has tach and speedometer,fuel gage and associated components. Rear light. Just
options. Think there is extra chrome on hood.
 
The big difference between Super and non Super is the hydraulic system, also color diff. and decal color diff.
