ampli torch stuck in high

maybe someone has seen this before? my super u-302 had a noise in drive line, after opening transmission ampli torch and spring clutch decided to replace sprag clutch and hub, replace clutch and pressure plate, and close gearbox back up. have tractor runnign again, but has a wine when clutch is out (don't remember that before this work) and seems to be stuck in high side of ampli torch, does change speed when lever is pulled back to low. I'm sure I did something or didn't do what should of, wondering where I might start

Split it and shim the front cover for the ampli-torc compartment correctly. I did this on my Jetstar 3 Super, had to mash on the brakes to get it to go to low, let off the brakes, and it it went back to high. Kinda wierd. Never gave it a thought to re shim when I put it back together after putting new bearings in the transmission.

the front cover? ok (I used two new yellow shims the thicker ones instead of the one yellow and two blue old shims that were in there) I can try more... how does one determin how many or how far to shim? (to bad these old yellow tractor parts are all special order and wait for mailman HAHA)

Get a magnetic mount for the indicator. They are not real expensive. It doesn't need to be anything fancy. After having it you will find other uses for it.

Ive heard it is better to have a little extra endplay than not enough. That
might be why you are having trouble. I have an M5 to finish yet.
