GB Questiona

This GB is for sale about 70 miles away. When i first looked at it the exhaust was ok, and the engine free. Since Nov when i looked at it last the engine has seized. Are parts available for this engine? Not too familiar with MMs, but i figure my U would like some company.
Thinking with the tire and the engine issue its not worth much beyond scrap price.

Manifold toughest part to find. Have new pistons. rings, etc for it here in MB. Tires a
little much! Tin looks good. Not a highly collectibile MM. Scrap price.

I remember GTs on gasoline but all of the GBs around here were on propane or diesel. That GB on gas would be that much easier to get running, a great parade tractor that didn't stink like diesel or propane. hood and fenders, etc looks to be in great shape. Wouldn't it be a shame to let the scrappers have it? Wish it was 70 miles or so from me, it has to be worth more than scrap price.

good morning Thomas, don't worry about the motor being stuck, when you get it home just pull the plugs and pour as much A.T.F. as you can into each cylinder, the longer you leave it sit the better. the manifold looks good just the muffler rotted off, but that's an easy fix. if the muffler is not a normal stock size take your measurements into village muffler in spruce grove and the guys will custom build you one. to bad the owner didn't jack it and block it up when he got the flat rather than let it ruin the tire and tube.

I brought home a G similar to the one in your post. It belonged to an old friend who had used it to hay and farm in the hills west of here, and had been bought new by his dad. Slight problem, though. My friend had started to rebuild the engine, removed tin, heads and manifolds, when he suddenly died. A less than appreciative family member rolled it outside with no covering, where it sat in the weather for several years. Blocks and pistons are toast, manifolds iffy, carb missing, but from the crankcase down is a clean, rust free Alberta tractor. I think blocks and pistons can be found, and the rest of the problems are just the usual restoration grief. Will it be worthwhile dollarwise? No, but I enjoy the work, and I like the tractor. Nuff said, have some fun. unc

Ditto what Carvel said. If it's only been stuck 6 months I'd definitely try soaking it first. You can always go deeper if you have to. I'd probably even pour some down the exhaust stack.
