Hammer mill

I bought a MM hammer mill from a guy down the road for 500. It came with the blower and feed schute + some feed bags etc. I don't really know what to do with it now, would it be worth restoring or should I just try and sell it?

do you have any livestock you could feed with it woody? looks in real nice shape, and probably wouldn't take much to get it up and running. or even better you could go into the custom grain crushing buisness

I have about 8 head of sheep, the only tractor I have currently is a ih 656 with no belt pulley, so first I'd have to find a tractor that could operate the belt 8)

or you could convert to pto or put a pulley on it and run off electric motor?

That look's like the International mill i got from my mothers dad,is that a 10 inch wide screen? The international i got, doesn't have a dust collector, you shovel it in the top, and out and away from the bottom, but it still works. You might have to buy a few hogs to get some use out of it !!!

But that flat screen, has got me puzzled, what that for, but it's got the gate to control the flow of grain, [you leave that out for ear corn] that looks like really nice shape and complete. I ground a little, at a Thresing show with my H Farmall on it, it would take at least a 15 horse electric i am guessing. My hammer's are like new, it grinds fast and took some power ! If you don't use it, you might want to restore it and donate it too someone that got a MM Mueseum !!!
