built a power plug box and installed 5 pin trailer plug on the back of the m5, the plan is to run 2 circuits to it, 1 live all the time (fused) and 1 on a switch on the dash. thinking of building a set of flashing red strobe lights on magnets ( like the tow truck drivers put on the back of a vehicale for towing) if i'm coming home with a disc or cultivator in the dark.

forgot the pics again!

(quoted from post at 23:58:53 04/10/18) You did not want to cut holes in your rear hydraulic cover plate?
fdt860 I did look at that, I put the tank back in and looked at where the pipes and hoses all come out and it's tight, this I thought was the best option as it's out of the way, handy to plug in to from the ground, and should keep and hyd. oil and dirt out of the plug. and if there are any issues down the road with the plug or cable they will be accessible and easy to work on. going to run a piece of 1/2" electrical conduit from the plug to the bottom of the console to protect the cable.

(quoted from post at 05:23:51 04/11/18) M5 originally had a trailer plug. See them on some tractors. Not 5 pin.
according to my manuals g.b. it's supposed to be a 2 pin trailer type, but my thinking is to make the m5 more up to date in areas that make sense (to me) changing out gen. for chevy alt., moving battery box close to starter with bigger cables, the 5 pin trailer plug will give me more options. i'm not doing a 100% accurate restoration g.b., I plan on this m5 being my every day go to tractor, building it for work not show.
