went over to ericks this afternoon and picked up the right fender for the m5 it was bent up similar to the left and had a crack in the bend running over 2 ft. Erick worked his magic again, came out looking like new. NOW if it ever quits snowing and gets up over 0 F I might just get them sanded and prepped for paint

forgot the pics

You and your friend Erick need to collaborate on a book of how to repair sheet metal!! lol

It seems a shame in life that it takes a lifetime to accumulate so much knowledge and skill!

and the skills he has are self taught with over 50 years of working metal. watched him one day straighten a big skidsteer bucket that was bent and twisted so bad it should have gone to the scrap yard! used sip cut discs to cut the bucket in several spots, used chains and hydraulic jacks and the torch and when he was done it looked like it just left bobcats showroom. and you are correct it takes a lot of years to gather the knowledge he has, and when he's gone it's gone with him. its no different than all the knowledge and skill that you have accumulated howard. but the hard part is to pass that knowledge on, num. 1 find a young fellow who wants to learn those skills? and has the ability to visualize the job in his mind, figure out the way to build, fix, and fabricate it. and wants to work with his hands.
