R Series Trans and Gears

I am assisting a friend and need to know if the R/RT trans and gears are the same throughout the series. I am out of town and this time and not near my parts books to compare the parts diagrams. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Changed gears tx cases,motors. Only difference I ever found was clutch change in mid 40's.

Thank you. The next question he had for me is there a specific way the gear shift lever comes out? Do you have to pull the top deck plate off or can it come out the top without pulling the plate. I have no R to check as my experience has been with a different series. Thank you once again.

Am sure tranny cover has to come off.
