How do you all torque and retorque heads on M5, Us, without the special wrench? Can you just do it by feel or do I need to get that wrench or adapter. And where do you get it. I think J D use the same tool. Anybody got a part #

Here is the JD wrench. I believe it is number JDE141. If you have a "friendly" JD dealer and they have one they may loan it out.

Here is my quick solution if a crowsfoot doesn't work I took an old socked (one that was cracked put the crack at the weld point) cut the top off and welded it beside to create an offset. Just remember to reset the torque wrench as the offset creates a different torque.

Rotate the torque wrench to be perpendicular to the line between offset Center and nut then you do not need to adjust tongue settings

I got mine off the Snap On truck years ago. I heard Snap on doesn't make them any more. They are Ebay all the time. 15/16" is the size I believe. Don't try to guess.

I got a wrench and an old socket, add some heat to the wrench and bend into a C shape. Weld the old socket on one end. I quenched it in some oil to give it back some hardness.

Done a bunch of engines and so far so good.

There is a formula for resetting the torque value for the offset. It will be lower than the factory spec. In other words, if you use the factory torque value with the offset, you are over tightening the bolt. I have a 2inch offset I made.
