M5 resteration

Since everyone here likes pictures and stories I thought I'd post a few pick of the M5 i repainted last spring and reassembled in the summer. the tractor had an old repaint on it that was the wrong color and was peeling off. After some mechanical repairs and many years of pulling a feed mixer wagon in the summer I decided it need to look better again. It was sandblasted to bare metal everywhere and then primed and painted. Here are a few pictures from the start after power washing it the 2nd time a few progress pictures and then the final.

beautiful restoration tjv., what am I doing all this work for when I could just load mine and haul it down to you  being an old pro now, can you have it ready for may 1st? how many hours do you guesstimate that took tj.

the steering wheel and the throttle lever tip came from steiner the shift lever knob, AT and PTO handle grips came from AGCO believe it or not the shift lever knob (part number 10A13578) was only $2.32 from AGCO (its original looking where steiner wanted to sell an IH one) the steering wheel was $95 but was the only place i could find an original looking one and steering wheel center cap another $49. the decals are vinyl cut from maple hunter.

I dont even want to guess or for that matter know lol. I started that on about the first of March and finished the about the first of August just in time for the local threshing show but many of those days in didn't even have time to look at it. Lets just say the paint had plenty of time to cure before I assembled it. I do know I spent the 3 short days with a large sandblaster probably 12 hrs total and another 3 days painting one for primer one for yellow and one for brown with mixing and gun cleanup I'm sure that totaled more than 12 hrs plus all the other days spent fixing oil leaks and washing and then reassembly and touchup work. I dont mind doing that kind of work but I dont know if I would want to do it for someone else besides the rest of this spring I have the "working farm machinery" to get ready to work so I can pay the bills again this year if you know what I mean. My shop only holds at best 2 projects at one time. And to top it off I have my 3 elementary age kids that that love solely with me, so evenings are shot with their activities and homework. Not that I wouldn't love to get paid for my time but I dont think you could afford me I'm slow and kind of a perfectionist, and still learning as this was only my 2nd paint job.
I will be more than willing to answer questions or give advise if you need it. my email is open if you need to shoot me a email and I can give my phone number to talk something out if needed
