got the hyd. tank drained and taken out of the tractor, took out the rotten hoses and couplers, cleaned every thing up and found out I do have char lynn valves, so the 2 pieces I found in the bottom under the tank are for supporting the valves. installed the good one, so now looking for one more for the other valve. I know now why he didn't put them back on! even with the tank out of the way they are a b***h to get in and get a bolt in  cleaned and prepped some more pieces and primed. cleaned out the hyd. tank, took out hyd. screen filter and cleaned it. it was fairly clean, a few smeglys in it, but not to bad, blew it out with air really good, will pick up some gasket material tomorrow and make a new gasket for it. making progress slowly but surely. some pics of today.

(quoted from post at 15:38:53 03/15/18) Progress is coming along good, be ready in no time. Now ya got me all itchy to work on my M5.
thank you nate, i'm trying to get something done every day, working along on it when ever I get a spare minute. I got 2 more welders in yesterday to work on, got 1 done this morning and hope fully get a good start on the other one, paying customers come first, so my m5 gets put to the side (but still going to sneak in a bit each day  )

(quoted from post at 06:08:45 03/16/18) Got a circuit board for Lincoln Sp250?
sorry gb. I don't stock circuit boards for the Lincoln migs, and iv'e never had any of those migs in the shop for repair. so don't have any used ones. price them out at your local Lincoln dealer and across the border in north Dakota, and make sure you take your heart medication before you call the won't be cheap.

I tried repairing it. Changed eeprom. Wasn't worth repair many years ago. Brother wired
neutral wrong. He had 4 others and eventually replaced them with tigs.

Did you find a part to replace that broken one from the end of the char-lynn valve? I had a valve like that on my GVI go bad inside the plunger scored and quick moving, I may have the remains of that valve with the part you need out in the shed somewhere, and somewhere is the keyword but if you needed it I'D be willing to look and see what's here. Email me if you still need it.

as you can see 1 was broken and I reinstalled the good one thank you tjv.

I sent you an email with my contact info. but to answer your questions yes I put another char-lynn on so they matched cause the tractor has dual hyd. and they need to be the same, we had a guy about 20 miles away in the parts business that had a tractor with the valve I needed on it so I went that route. But my M5 has a dual spool (one single unit not 2 singles side by side) greason on it. that one was changed sometime in its life but it worked when I got it so I left well enough alone.
