G1000 water pump brass bushing

Radiator getting fixed. Found out why it had no thermostats I think. What is the brass bushing? on back of the water pump for? Well it was in 2 pieces and I'm pretty sure that's why it wasn't circulating and why the previous guy took the thermostats out. Could use the bushing from my used 705 water pump but I'm just getting a new pump since it's so much fun to take off. Also got to take care of the wiring for the thermostat which is another pain. Could have used a suggestion on which bolt was the "secret" one holding the pump in.

Use the one off your other pump. That bushing is not a big deal, because you have to adjust the impeller on the shaft, and the housing to the engine with shims. Better get yourself a shop manual so you know how to do it. And not mess anything up.
