5 star seat

Was there ever an after market seat available for a 5star? I take mine on frequent tractor rides and it's terrible on rough roads the only suspension are the springs in the cushion. I checked in the parts book and there are no deluxe seats listed. Thanks Jeff

Check your tractor or farm store places. There are several options available.

You might try a spring seat from a later MM. It may make you sit higher than you want. A thinner seat cushion might be needed.

I think the only "deluxe" seat MM offered on the 5 Star was the armrests as extra equipment. I cant for the life of me understand why that same seat was offered as a deluxe seat as extra equipment on some of the 4 Stars. Yes they only had the springs in the cushion with no underride. From what I had been told by a friend of mine whose grandfather and dad had run an MM dealer years ago, he had told me MM offered an updated seat package that was the same seats as used on the M5s. As was mentioned that might be a decent option.

As Alan said you could get a seat from an M5 or later tractor and it will bolt right on. My grandpa put one on his 5 Star when they became available in the early sixties. It gives a much smoother ride!
