I have a question from a friend in Canada. He bought a G1000 Wheatland new about 1967. He said Minneapolis Moline sent him a metal card about the size of a business card that states "You are now a member of the G1000 Club". He still has it in pristine shape. He says it is sort of gold colored. It is more than likely brass. He says he has asked others about it but no one seems to have ever heard of such a thing. I asked several other G1000 owners and they have never heard of this either. Of course none of these are original owners like my Canadian friend. Was this an MM practice to send such a metal card to new G1000 owners? Is there someone out there that has heard of this or even better - has one? I am hoping for a picture from him. I will share it if I get it.

I was hoping you?d get some replies!

That is really interesting, but I?ve never heard of that.

Maybe it was a local dealer thing or something. I?d have thought as many G1000s were sold someone would chime in.

I hope you get a picture to post of the card.

We bought a new G1000 in 1965,but I never saw anything like that. But we bought a new A4T in 1973, and we did get a small plastic card with the serial # on it and stating something about joining the Minneapolis family. It looked like a yellow credit card.

My family has two of them. The card is made of brass and has the owners name stamped on it. One for a 1965 G1000 purchased new by my great-great grandpa before he retired farming and another for a 1967 G1000 that was purchased new by my great grandpa. Both are still in the family.
