Abandoned 1355-pix

A co-worker and I were driving today and saw this 1355 parked off the beaten path. We pulled over while I took a few photos on my phone and my co-worker took a wiz. I have no idea of the story behind it, but it appears to have been there awhile as the cab was full of pack rat sticks. Rear tires on it (Continentals, BTW) look almost brand new. The only thing that appears to be missing was the radiator. I know nothing about it and just thought this post might be enough to get some good and bad replies on the model.
So....how much would an overhaul on something like this cost? ;-)

Needs a good home, I don't get the thought process of parking it in the weeds only to deteriorate. Someone needs to talk to the owner.

Is there a G900 gasoline sitting just a few feet away from this? Looks just like one I looked at a year or so ago. Never could find anyone around.

I saw that one in 2012 when I was in Kansas. It has been sitting a very long time. At the time, Google showed it in a 2007 "streetview" picture.

I don't know where the tractor is but I can tell from the pictures it is a 1974 1355 as it has the spin on oil filters, internal oil pump and white on the radiator screen. You are going to put in $3,000-$4,000 on just parts and machine shop work for an overhaul and that is not counting if you have to grind the crank. Those pistons and a boring are not cheap anymore. Also it probably still has the rubber governor in the pump and your looking at $750 to go into the diesel pump. So it depends what the price is. I would be interested in going and taking a look if it isn't too far from Wichita.

Now days about 10k for complete motor job, Top gasket kit 600$ Pistons alone 3k and if over
good luck. But consider cheaper than other makes of today and lots of hp and very
efficient. Hope my 2270 keeps humming.

I have no idea if it's even for sale. My driver just pulled over to relieve himself and I took some photos of it at the time.
This tractor isn't too far off the beaten path. If it's been there for several years, I suspect the owner won't sell it.
