Pictured is a UDLX MM that I had known about for 40 years....I had never been able to get the serial number for it until this weekend when I found out that its #310508....It has been in the family since new.....At the time a friend took this picture around 1980 another UDLX was in a dark shed on this farm so he didnt take a picture of it..

Just this past weekend I was able to add #310019,310508,and 310536 to the list....That makes 91 accounted for....2 or 3 are too far gone to restore..If you know of a serial number thats not on this list please let me know..I found out a long time ago that it takes someone that knows the tractor owner to get a serial number....Once I get a serial number I dont reveal the owners name or exact location..

Heres the known serial numbers for the last 125 UDLX MM's built....310501,310502,310504,310505,310506,310507,310508,310510,310511,310512,310514,310515,310517,310518,
310522,310524,310528,310531,310532,310533,310534,310535,310536,310537,310538,310539,310540,310541,310542,
310544,310545,310546,310547,310548,310549,310550,310551,310552,310554,310556,310558,310559,310565,310566,
310569,310570,310572,310574,310576,310582,310584,310587,310589,310591,310592,310593,310594,310595,310599,
310601,310602,310603,310604,310606,310611,310612,310613,310614,310616,310618,310619,310620,310621,310622,
310624,310625...

At the present time I think that theres still 8-10 UDLX MM's out there that I dont have the serial numbers for....Heres information on a few of them..

One that was for sale 15 plus years ago for 40K at Red Cloud,Nebraska..

One that was known to be in the Ipswich,N Dakota area 20 years ago..

One that sit in a shed from 1954-2008 near Goodland,Kansas...Was sold..

One in British Columbia Canada that a collector sent me a picture of in the early 1980's.

One that sold in 2009 on the Gary Parker sale..

#310527 was seen in Montana 20 plus years ago but I cant confirm it..

3 are known to be in Argentina and I have the serial number for only one of them.

1206,

I haven't found an Ipswich, ND but there is that town in SD.

Also do you have the S/N of the UDLX that's at the MM museum (kind of a new place) in Hopkins, MN ? This museum is at the street level lobby of a pricey high rise apt complex located just across the street from the old MM plant in Hopkins. I visited there a few months ago but never thought to record the S/N of that tractor. If you don't have the S/N I could get it next time I'm near there. I live about 60 miles away and go to Hopkins to visit family a few times a year.

For those that are interested heres the UDLX that was once in Mexico City....This picture would have been in the 1950's-60's...I wonder if there are any tractor collectors in Mexico?

Hello Mr. Griggs!

Interesting quest you have going on!

I was just wondering if you had any idea what serial # UDLX might have been lurking around the Griggs/Texhoma area of Oklahoma years ago.

Supposedly, one was shedded in the old wood barn years before on a place I leased for several years. The long-time elderly neighbor told me the old man that owned the place I farmed had one back in the 50's era. The neighbor was always jealous of the cab, while he was out driving a bare JD D or LA Case in the cold wind...

I found scraps of newspapers in the old barn going back to the early 20's, so it could have well been possible, though all the equipment and parts were long gone by the time I started farming the place in the 90s.

That is the photo I saw in a MM Merchandizer Magazine that was likely an early 50s publication. I'll look to see if I can find it again.

1206, I am the one who mentioned last year there was one in this area and last seen the fall of 1998. From what I was told from neighbors, it was bought new and was used to farm and pulled a wooden grainery which was mounted on an old truck chassis. They used this to haul grain to the local elevator. The family had a large fleet of MM's. When the Dad passed one of the daughters ended up with the tractor and it sat in a back corner of a quonset for all of the 80's and most of the 90's. The front corner of the tractor could be seen from the highway when the doors were open. I never stopped to ask if I could look at it and it never moved in that time. In the fall of 98, I was in town for a friends wedding and the tractor was outside of the barn, dusty with flat tires, but looked complete. The next week when I was in town the tractor was gone. I assume it got sold, because the daughter still owns the farm and is in her 80's now and I have not seen the tractor since. I know who the family is, but don't know them personally. If I get a chance, her grandson has horses on the farm yet, maybe he would know where it went or if she would mind being asked a few questions on it. You have done a great job with recording information and collecting photographs of those tractors over the years. The only one I have ever sat in is the one the Mohr family out of Vail IA had and maybe still has. It was at a large tractor show in the 90's, very clean and well kept tractor.

There was a UDLX sold at an Aumann Auction in 2013 near me in Western New York. This was from the Tired Iron Museum collection. I have no idea who bought it or where it went too.

Thanks....I have known about this UDLX for quite some time and have its serial number...I also know its current location..

Thanks...I got the wrong Dakota...The tractors at Hopkins are the high dollar ones from the Mecum auction several years ago and I have their numbers..

Hi Howard...I had never heard of one in that area...If anyone would have known it would have been Doc Liebl at Dodge City,KS or Don Sell from Booker,Texas as they both owned UDLX MM's many years ago.....Both are gone...Doc told me stories about UDLX's out that way but I never wrote them down...He was one of the first collectors to ever restore a UDLX MM..

I guess you will not be content till you find a ntx ( or what ever) with a factory installed UDLX cab? LOL I did see a UDLX close to Great Falls MT. Weird old guy, has several steam engines and other rare machines. He thinks the kids will value all the items. Bet the sale will start at 1 pm if his funeral is in the AM. However Tom Railsback ( posts often on Case site) took me to the farm. Possibly Tom could get the information you seek. Hey good luck hunting old friend.

Do you have the one in Hamilton il at old threashers? I'm pretty sure it is the one in the pic you said used to be Neil Mclure's. I'm thinking the one that was sold and restored by Clint stamm was a different one. The one in Hamilton belongs to Niels granddaughter. I missed the show there last year but will try to get a serial this year but if you don't have it.
