I was cruising through kiji alberta farm equipment tonight and came across a 1950 mm z tractor add # 1321678851, looks in decent shape owner asking $1200. obo, says it's running tin in nice shape, how rare are these and whats it worth?

They were fairly common in some places. Good handy tractor. My dad bought one
new in 1950, still have it. I restored a 1952 model in Vo-Tech in the mid 1980s.
Is this the standard model? Looks like that is what it is in the ad. There
werent a lot of those. I wouldnt mind having one myself someday but I need to
get a few others done first lol.

just looked again alan and it is a standard, all the tin seems there and in decent shape, not all beat and bent up, needs new tires of course. looks like it's all there, owner says in the add it has a hand clutch, also has the belt drive pulley, did you want me to run up to westlock and pick it up for you alan

Value on MM Zs depends a lot on location. Where they are common, they don't usually bring very much.

Around my neck of the woods, a decent one will set you back at least $2000. I've been to several auctions in my general area where I bid $2000 on a good ZA or ZB and was not the winning bidder. The last auction I went to in FT Scott, Kansas had a rough, but complete, ZA that had not been started in over 10 years. It had been thoroughly "farmerized" with lots of crude stuff welded on to it. It brought over $1400.

I hate to tell you what I finally paid for a nice ZA last year. It's just a nice straight tractor with decent paint. Nothing special.

Around here, you can buy a U for less money than a Z will cost. In the past year, I've bought a very nice UTS LP that cost me less than half of what I had to pay to get a nice ZA.

thats where im from. i have 3 m.m. u's. i had a z and it was a lot nicer than that one and got 700.00 for it a few years ago. all mine 1953, and one has semi live pto.
they are nice tractors.

amen to that alan, found a decent mm-u 1956 model near here all the tin looks nice and straight, original paint the add # on kiji farm equip. is 1321962800, what does a decent u go for these days.

i looked at that U special last night. has home made blade on it. engine is seized, sat for over ten years. rear fenders are all banged up. i checked the year of it and its 1956 for the nice girl. was the inlaws tractor and grannie figures 3-4000.00. i would not give 1k.i bought a nice one is sask. for 1k with a blade also. they said ran when parked... i said it most likely did but its not running now.
