RTI engine question

My engine leaks some oil from the corner of the base of the rear cylinder block(between cylinder blocks). Is this most likely just the gasket or can it be something with the valve oil tube pushing pressurised oil out?
Where would you start? Thanks in advance.

My R and Z both did that. Gasket on both. If it was the valve oil tube it would just run back to the pan like it does off the rockers.

It can be a gasket. If it is coming from in between the blocks it could be a soft plug by the rocker arm shafts. If it is a gasket you can take the side covers off and just check the nuts that hold the blocks on, also dont forget to check the ones under the head as well. They generally dont need to be super tight as you will squish out the gasket. If you do tighten them make sure to recheck and reset your valve clearance as it will change when doing this.

Like Alan said. Just wanted to add:

If you decide to replace the gaskets, you can leave the head and manifold on and pull the blocks together after you disconnect the connecting rods.

It is coming from the gasket, at the corner by the oil tube, that is why I asked about the oil tube. Thanks

Thanks, I have the IT manual, just wanted more experienced opinions before I tore into it.
