M670 Super steering

Hi all,

I am seeking someone knowledgeable with M670 Super steering systems. I understand this is a hydrostatic system with a Saginaw hydro motor. My hydro motor is leaking fluid through the steering column. The steering shaft is wore down on the end and the torsional shaft is showing through. Also the locking pin between the outer input shaft and torsional shaft has fluid leaking out. I understand parts to rebuild are VERY uncommon now. Does anyone have part numbers or anything that can help me to convert this steering system to something updated (charlynn)?

Thanks ahead of time, Colin.

I worked on a 1600 Oliver for my uncle about 5 years ago if I remember right it had a Saginaw steering motor and we found it way more
feasible to replace it with a new char-Lynn conversion from force america. It worked great they make the kit for Oliver's but I would think
with a little fabrication you could put one of these motors in your 670. I talked to a guy in their fort dodge Iowa location he was very
good and knew what I needed I believe his name was Byron, don't know if he's still there after this many years but that is where I would
start.

I think the later ones used
charlynn motors you should be able
to switch it out with a used one.
Call stamm classic tractors or
Welters in Missouri.

hello on my 670 I found a unit off of a old Oliver combine , I had to change the shaft that
the steering wheel mounted to ( combine long , tractor short ) a friend of mine put a
completely different brand of unit on his tractor from a combine also but he had to make
the mounts. Bryan
