PTO question

We have a '47 U out at Farmamerica that does not have a PTO. We don't know for sure, but we're assuming that it probably came from the factory that way.
If we were to add one, is it just a matter of pulling one off a junker and bolting it on? Or are there other internal parts that may be missing? Hoping to keep this as simple as possible.
Thanks!

Just pull off a junker. Pto assembly and short pto shaft. Park on hill so rear end oil
doesn't run out.

I believe the outer units (non lift type) are all the same between the ZA, ZB
U, UB and GTB-GB series with the exception of the lever being a different style
on the later ones. You will need the inner shaft for the U also to install one
on yours. If you can tip the front end down hill you can install one without
draining the rear end oil.
