MM Auction on Saturday

Attended a large auction (100+ tractors and carcasses) in SW North Dakota on Saturday. Had a good day as we bought 4 tractors and a corn planter. Got to meet Lance from eastern Wyoming and several other MM fans. Prices were a bit soft on the tractors but nothing very rare there. M-602 diesel on the two axle trailer and G-705 diesel and corn planter on the three axle. The other two we bought were a G-VI diesel and M-602 gas.

Oddly, I thought the Oliver's brought better money than the others. There were some gems in the non runner row if you knew what you were looking at. I think the running tractors would have brought better money if they had started them, at least in the morning.

It looks like you made a pretty good haul on the trailer. Is that a 4 bottom MM plow on top, wondering what you had to pay for it because I have one on rubber that looks just like it and a couple of 3 bottoms too. It must be what, a nice looking 445 or 4 star there with it?
We are in SE North Dakota and to busy with bean harvest to even think of making the 300+ mile trip out there so I missed it. Where was that sale, near Dickenson?

3 bottom plow, went for $100, but I probably overpaid. Shares and boards like new, needs tires.

There was also a nice 2 bottom on steel that went for $275.

5 star MM, it was hitching a ride for a friend.

The sale was south of Dickinson.

Alan - From that distance the cab doesn't look too bad but my plans are to cut it off then use it to fill up with scrap metal as it is a POS. The cab on the 705 is an Excel I think. Not quite as crappy but nothing worth keeping. Bruce.

We talked with Nick (the owner of all the stuff) late in the auction and he thought the tractors would have sold better by starting them. I am not sure any of the 4 I bought would have started very easily so I am guessing Ritchie Bros nixed that idea. The G-VI we got had a battery from July 2017 but it was pretty much dead when we tried it. I am not sure what shape my American Bosch pump and two Roosa's are going to be in so want to investigate a bit before I try to start them.

Was going to say if you were close to me (Im in SW MN) and you had the doors and windows for it I would be interested in it. Looking for something for my M5 loader tractor in the winter.

It was great to meet you guys as well. I managed to get 3 loads home by 10am Tuesday morning. I must be getting old it's not as easy to run non stop as it uses to be.

Alan - No doors and about 1/2 the windows are in it. You are more than welcome to it. We are in west central ND. Had thought about going to the winter show in Charles City this winter but a lot of things have to fall in place for that. Projects keep piling up and winter is coming.

I wish I had that kind of dedication. Worried about you hauling that dualled up 705 when it was getting dark. You are going to have to invest in a semi if you are going to buy volume tonnage like that. 3 loads and you said it was 480 miles one way. That is almost 1,000 miles by my math. Good to see a younger MM fan in action! We used to get to Cheyenne and Fort Collins pretty regular so if we get that way you'll be getting a call to see the collection. Bruce.
