I am looking for a bigger sickle mower than my t7 case trailer type 7' , my question is who makes the best sickle mower, looking for a 8' or 9'. I have heard good things about both new Holland and massey ferguson. and did anyone build a 8' sickle mower? with the rolling hilly ground here I need a trailer type not a 3pt.

Ive never heard of an 8 footer. Im betting they were 7 foot and 9 foot because
that followed a rake width. Early rakes were 7 footers, later ones were 9
footers.

1100 not 11100! and try my local case ih dealer!! i'll start shopping for one, gb what makes the ih 1100 that much better? belt drive over the wood pitman arm, and what else?

1100 replaced the 100 which also was a good mower. We bought a new 1100 in early
70's(1800$) and was used with M5. Cut hundreds of hours with the pair. Smooth drive and a
real good bar. Still used last year to cut 100 acres of prairie hay. They will cut toughest
of hay. Next best was the JD #5 or #8. 1100 was still being made until last few years. Case
IH or Westward has all parts.

You must not be aware of DEERE 350 and 450 mowers?

Must be a newer generation. None ever around here. Mowers were replaced by 12 or 14 ft haybines or Rowse 18 ft mowers in early 70's.

bob the 350 and 450 deere mowers are 3pt. and won't work on my rolling hilly fields that's why I need a trailer type. I have tried a 3pt. and just made a mess, nearly wore out my right arm trying to keep it level!
