(quoted from post at 10:45:48 08/17/17) M5 gas standard with one tire confused. Has an original MM loader frame.
that confused tire is now on my trailer along with the tire that was leaning on the 2nd. m5 (see pic) the problem is as you can see the tractor had sank into the dirt and the wheel hub was on the rim!! when we got it out to load the rusty water and muck was pouring out of the split in the rim where the hub was, rim is rotted right through! so now I need 2 good used 18.4 x 34 tires and 1 rim,

Looks like a nice, straight survivor. I have an M602 diesel, and I find it to be a fun, nimble tractor with lots of torque.

If you need parts, let me know. I know of an M5 for parts with a blown rear end, but it's a diesel, not a gas if memory serves me right. I'm only about an hour north of you, near Barrhead.

good afternoon Lyndon, I will be needing parts as I plan to restore both m5's, right now I'm looking for 2 decent used 18.4 x 34 tires and at least one or two 16 x 34 rims for it. it's great to hear your close by and look forward to helping each other out. john

Hi John, I'll see if I can get down to look at that parts tractor again in the next few weeks. I might have a little downtime here and there the next 2 weeks while my truck is getting re-rigged for sand hauling. I'm usually gone during the week, but I always find my way here to the forum on the weekends.

thank you Lyndon good luck on your rerigging, right now working on cleaning up what I hope is a good rim, but we won't know until we get the tire off tomorrow at the tire shop, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. a lot of corrosion around the leaking valve stem. have a great evening. john

Actually the M5 gas standard is a fairly collectible tractor. There was 6k M5 gas or lp
made. If 6k made 1/2 would be gas making 3k made in the 4 years of production. of 3k gas
made Far majority were universal, row crop or single wheel close to 2/3. I would say there
was under 800 gas standards made or less. I could find exact numbers if required. That
would be 200 made per year! 1/2 or more are in boneyard. Do the restoration! A standard M5
gas is hard to find. Most M5's shipped to Canada were diesel standards.

I believe your right molinegb, I started the restoration today with the 1 wheel and tire we salvaged out of 2!! at the tire shop, see post with pics, in talking to folks online and on the phone I'm beginning to understand just how rare these 2 tracors are! and in my opinion the m5 is the nicest looking tractor out there! looking forward to hooking up to that j.d. baler and have the dog wagging the tail not the tail wagging the dog! give my little 310b a rest, just use him for raking, and maybe pulling the 7ft. case sickle mower! I found a older mm trip type plow on line localy here was going to get it but got stormed out so will try and pick it up this week, will post pics of it when I get it home. aand I'm sure i'll need help from the knowledgable folks here in identifying it and restoring it.
