Wheat harvest time. The old fashion way with the binder.

Looks great, we do that here in NE Illinois, usually use a 10'IHC PTO binder and usually pulled with my M670, have to run in low 1st as these binders weren't made for todays wheat stands.

i have one those needs restored know anybody be interested. it has 3 or four names on it ih, deering and new ideal.

This wheat binding is my first time. Probably my Cub garden tractor could pull the binder, but hooked the
MM U to it just to make sure.
A PTO driven binder would be a handy unit. Also a self stacker would save a lot of work.

This reminds me of this picture of my grandma from circa 1954:

They were cutting oats. My late Dad was driving the tractor.

The original camera negative was recently found and this image was made from it. There are a couple old original prints of it around and they are so yellow and faded that there is little left to see so I was so happy to get this negative.

That is a 1948 "Z" on the binder. It was a 10' IHC PTO drive binder. Got cut up for scrap in the 80s. The tractor is still on the farm but not currently running. Its in the shed though.
