Came across a 1967 G-1000 Vista the other day. According to the serial number its the 102 one built. The front hood panel says G1000 in black letters it does not have the chrome vista emblem. Is this correct? Were the first vistas this way? Thanks

IIRC ours is a '67 and has the chrome emblems. I believe they changed later to the decals.

My Vista was built in May of 1969 and is one of the 1st to have the 3-speed Ampli-torc. It has the chrome emblem.

Early production 1967 Vistas do not have the chrome. I have diesel #250 and it is still decaled tractor.

Brad that is a sharp vista. Where did you get that muffler? Would also like to find some front suitcase weights like yours. Thanks

That is correct for an early 1967 Vista. It should have a black "Vista" decal at the top of the hood. The chrome badge shows up in Supplement B to the R-2154 Vista repair catalog dated 2-69 but does not list a serial number break when it was first used in production. Our 1968 Vista has the chrome badges.

We have three vista diesels and they all have the chrome emblem, #752, the 16th one built in 68 that we bought new, #1185, the last one built in 68 and a 69 #1272 just for the record. The early 68 had the chrome emblem but it was always a little loose like they drilled holes in the panel and just inserted it in the holes and I'm not sure how they were really attached and one fell off somewhere and we never did find it. On the other two they are solidly attached, almost like they are glued on tight and have no movement at all. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement??

I thought Riverdale Farm shop had made some. One of the guys from there I believe posts on here as R.F.D

nr5star, that muffler is actually for an MF 1135, which I got from Shoups. It is a 3 1/2" inlet vs the 3 15/16", the 4 bolt flange on the tractor was so thin that I took it off and rebuilt it using 3 1/2" heavy wall steel pipe. I really like the looks of it too! If you can find the weights, the last ones I watched sell were at least $150 a piece.

How is the sound compared to the stanley for the g-1000? I can't stand how loud ours is, want something quieter.

I'll bet when you guys were teenagers you wanted to run straight pipes so you could her beller. Ha!
