I have a neighbor that is replacing a couple of bad bats of an old MM combine head. Does anyone her know what type of wood was originally used?

That is interesting Kevin. I have worked with cypress when we was restoring an 1860 stone building. It is a good wood to resist water. Not to easy to find in this area. Do you happen to know what wood was used in the Manure spreaders??

I've done some of those Manure Spreaders and before doing them I was told yellow pine. Not much in my area so used white pine.

I am still trying to determine that one on my ls300 as well. But the wife won't let me do a cross
examination with it using a saw or sander. I need to find a good piece of one and stick it in the planer
minus nails or screws init.
