Tractor color

What color should the starter, generator, distributor and muffler be on a 1950 UTS, I know the tractor should be PG 2, with the front wheels and the back wheel centers red, with the back rims silver. At least that what I have seen at shows.

well, the '54 ZB was all yellow. Even the wiring. So I'm thinking that would be the way yours would have been.

But if you want to paint those parts black, it would be o.k. The rebuild shop usually paints the starter and generator that color anyway. I usually leave the old cap on the distruibuitor and replace it after I'm done painting. I don't put the sparkplug wires or wiring harness on until I'm done either.

Same color as the tractor as far as I know. There was a discussion about that years ago in the MM Corresponder. I thought it was stated that if a tractor came without electric equipment and it was added later they were usually painted black as that is the way they came. On my dads 1950 ZA they were Prairie Gold.

Alan is correct. The only thing Black on a 1950 would be the steering wheel,Knobs, and lights. Tires of course.
