I have a 1949 Minneapolis U tractor. wide steering front base. It does not run, and would make a very unique renovation project. It has good engine compression and the clutch works fine, also the transmission is in good shape too. It has original tyres also.
I am looking to sell her and was looking to find a fair price on this tractor.
Please see attached photos
thank you

Don't see any pictures.
Why doesn't it run? I'm sure you'd get more for it if you got it running first. Or are there major problems with the engine? You said it has good compression.

I have been trying to get $2100 out of
a 51 model that is straight and runs
great. Can't get a "nibble" .
Conclusion: will have to be well
under that price plus deduct what it
costs to get it running in order to
move it. (Just my opinion) .

Where are the photos and where is the tractor located? Location will usually make a difference in what you could expect to get for it.

My dad got a 1949 UTU by the SN, UTN single front wheel, for free in Az last Dec. It has a homemade 3pt, starter didn't work, was missing
carb, tires hold air, but are not much more.

So far between battery, starter, carb, and a water pump seal that didn't solve the problem of water in the oil, we have $236 in cash in it.
We got lucky and found a carb in our collection of carbs, that though not the MM original has the tractor running.

Scrap was $90 a ton last week in Phoenix. Tractor data says it ways 5500 to 6700, so $247.50 to $301.50 is the scrap value. And in Phoenix
its $35 a rear tire to dispose of them, so more like $177 to $231 is the scrap value. The tractor might be worth more if considering parts
value, but how much more I have no idea.

I'd hope if we could keep the water out of the oil, it might be worth $1000 to $2000, but don't know for sure.
