Hi All -

I missed a chance at one of these MM plows at the big Bridgeport NE sale several years ago and finally got another chance at a local sale last week! (just as well I waited - since I bid that Bridgeport plow way over what the wife would have allowed and this one was dirt cheap... ha ha).

Notice the "modern-day" shock absorber system underneath on the draw hitch of the plow - there are two big rubber bushings - one on each end of the two-point bar. I really get a kick out of the "experiments" like that in older equipment.

What years would this have been made? What tractor would this have been sold alongside? Any ideas on why it would be so orange??

Nice. I had a chance in the 80s to buy a 3 bottom like that for $35....but I didnt have the extra money or a way to get it home....or a tractor to use it on at that time lol. I believe they came out in 1956-57 with the 445s and 5 Stars.

Plough is a M1200 made in 56-57. I have a M1300 which is a 3 bottom. Mine has a guide wheel. Not all were red. Mine is PG and is original. They were made for the 335,445,5 Star series.

Thanks, fellows... That makes sense. The first one I saw was also PG, but I have a real late MM oneway that is red like you are saying...

This is sure faded more orange than my MM oneway, though, so it made me curious.

Dad bought a new 1959 MM 5 Star Diesel and a fully mounted 3 point 4 bottom plow identical to yours. Boy did a 14 year old (ME) turn over many a furrow in north central Illinois with that combo back then. John in AZ

Nice. You even got the MM cap on the back. Those rubber cushions look to be in good shape yet. Mine are hard and cracked but better than nothing.

I have the same exact plow that appears to have never been fully assembled or used. I'm missing the colters if anyone has any.
