Minneapolis Moline.

Ok have had few john deeres over time and always told to keep the clutch engaged while setting as this keeps oil slung for the bearing inside clutch. So... question is on the moline model Z as it also has a hand clutch, while at idel do you run the clutch engaged or no? While setting.

Well.... this is my 1st Moline model and
really wasnt sure my manual dosent say
anything about it? So i was going off the
john deeres i had i figure when parked while
running to engage it in neutral.

Only similarity between JD hand clutch and MM hand clutch is that they both have a lever. The primary reason to engage a JD hand clutch when idling or using it on PTO equipment (with live power like a 630 which I have) is to reduce wear on the clutch discs. Absolutely no reason to engage the MM hand clutch unless it needs to be to transmit power.

Ok.... thanks for the reply and help sir.i was wondering as the clutch on the MM looks to be the same as the foot clutch just in a hand style. Id say should hurt anything much as it does the same thing if the tractor was on a hammer mill cord wood saw etc. ?
