Minneapolis Moline ZB Experimental

I have just bought a Moline zb experimental. The tractor has a 10x3310 transmission casting, and the top transmission cover also has a 10x part number. The tractor has a steel serial number tag and the number is 00613967 which makes it a late 1952 zau. However the tractor looks like a zb. It has a different platform, different cultivator mount bolt holes on the transmission. The clutch inspection cover is different as is the piece over the steering column, as it is tin versus cast. I'm just looking for thoughts or opinions or if anyone has any information about it.

Nice find. Cant help you there. I wonder what the stub shaft is in front of the
live pto clutch? Also the cast "lug" on the top cover by the hydraulic lines.
Any more pictures of the rear of the tractor or any other differences?

Here are some more pictures. One is of the inspection cover and mount holes. The other pictures are of the rear of the tractor and the different platform. It is a two piece platform compared to a normal zb. It does have pto, and it comes through the long slot in the platform.

The platform is different. On both of the ZBs here the rear corners of the platform are beveled 45 degrees. The pto comes through a slot in the center of the platform too. And I think the 'box' that came off the center is different, or not even there.

The clutch lever going in the clutch housing is different too. Its just a bar welded to the shaft on our ZBs. I have seen that lever on yours somewhere else, I just can't remember where. And the clutch cover is the same as the hydraulic pump delete cover on the EE (R tractor) engine.

Thanks for sharing the photos with us. I hope you restore it and share pictures of it a lot.

I have seen two different platform material on ZBs, diamond plate like you have
and smooth. That is an interesting platform. As t.r.k stated most all were
beveled or slanted rear corners.
