A4t-1600 guru needed

I bought an a4t-1600 and found the hi/lo linkage unhooked and the lever that it normally hooks too is wired back...any ideas why? Thanks for any help..

My guess is hi or low is broke and was used with whatever was still working

Hmm........ I have three of these a4t-1600's and I have never had trouble with the hi lo drop box. If it's been unhooked and wired into position perhaps it was jumping out of gear??

Unusual problem. May I suggest you reconnect and try both ranges under load and see what it does. Make sure all lube fluid levels are ok first.
