MM-602 hydraulics

I'm changing out the leaking hydraulic couplers. The main ones, below the seat, are leaking between the hose end and the coupler end. There is a 1/4" wide metal band that goes between the hose and couple, and it flexes. That's where the fluid is leaking. I "think" that means the hose is bad. Has anyone replaced these factory hoses? Before I start removing bolts from the seat-box, I want to be sure I'm not going to cause myself worse headaches.

Thanks.

I may have bad eyes but, in your pictures I see hose coming out of the type E system into a 3/8 by 1/2/ pipe bushing into a 1/2 inch quick coupler. If it is leaking at the bushing. Put a wrench on the hose and one on the coupler and tighten. To really pin point a leak you need to wash clean with brake clean blow dry, and put system under pressure while looking at the area of the leak.

I agree with DEL. Take some wrenches and check the fittings. Also as he said
clean everything off. A wire brush might be helpful as well. It almost looks to
me that if it is leaking between the two areas that have places for wrenches it
might just be the swivel that is leaking. If you tighten things and the play in
it is still there and it leaks then I would look at the hose.

THANKS for good insight! IF I live through this insane flu-bug I inherited from "someone", I'll do the cleaning/tightening. It seems very sloppy behind the 1/4" wide band, and seems to be leaking there. Later...time for more Nyquil!
