Tractor always ran excellent other day ran out of gas wouldn't crank back. Realized gas going straight through carb repaired that then no fire figured out it was coil replaced that still won't crank. Will check timing now as close as can without running. I know two things at once seems strange but guess there's something else also. New coil is getting hot and back fires. This is a lot to just have ran out of gas at least I thought.Am third owner and he's ran strong for 11 years with no problems. Any ideas? Thanks

I am wondering if there is a film on your spark plugs that is grounding them out. I witness that, especially when making the tractor run on old gas.

carburetor leaking and no spark coming together sound like water in the gas to me.

It also might be a good idea to file or replace the ignition points.

Don't overlook the simple! Try a new set of plugs. Nothing about running out of fuel would affect timing or the ignition system in general. Plugs subject to raw fuel can then become ineffective.
