Telo-Flow Questions

I have 2 telo-flow hydraulics that need work. One valve is keeps lifting when it is centered and on another tractor the 2nd remote doesn't work unless the 1st remote is being used......

My question is: Is this an on-the-tractor fix? Where I can synchronize the spools and replace the o-rings? Or do I need to lift it off?

I am guess the one only needs o-rings, so I was thinking about pulling the valve body and replacing any o-ring I find....

Thanks!

The only O-rings in there are on the shafts to the levers. Your problems would have to be broken or mis-ajusted internal levers or linkages. You can make a couple of adjustments on the tractor, depends whats wrong. But you have to remove to do a complete job. You need a shop manual on the unit and check the ascribed lines on the spools in the order that the manual gives. And see if you can access any of what needs to be done. Drain the fluid and remove the top cover plate, the problem might be obvious.

Thank you. I am considering going through one off a donor
and swapping them. I just have the basic IT manual. Where
do you recommend I get the one that covers the yelp-flow?

If your external centering springs are not holding the remote handles centered, you can see strange things happening while trying use one of the other circuits.

The outside of the sleeve that the spools move in have o-rings in the housing around them but it is very rare that they cause any problems.

Do NOT mix up the sleeves and spools. They are matched to each other at the factory. Also the center spool in the housing is different than the ones for the remotes.

You didn't say which model tractor you was working one. I thought the IT manual covered the Tel-O-Flow. Anyway the best manual would be SERVICE BULLETIN D-336B Operating,Adjusting, and Servicing, TEL-O- Flo LIFTS. You might be able to get this trough the Floyd Co Museum in Charles City Iowa.
JK2 is correct, you can't be sloppy when working one one of these.
