UDLX serial number 1

Over on Smokstak there is a thread about the restoration of an experimental MM tractor and it got me thinking about another experimental which I read about in Antique power several years ago. In doing some research on this tractor, (which turned out to be the "IT") I stumbled into this thread about UDLX #1. Can anybody back up the story of it being buried on an indian reservation in northern MN??

Go back to page 4 on here and look at the topic that I started "They Sure Earned This UDLX""...It tells about the first UDLX #310001X..The cab was dug out of a gravel pit..I've read the story you mentioned and its not true....It wasnt totally buried on an Indian reservation..

There was a story some years ago in Gas Engine Magazine about the very first owner of #310001 that bought it new in Iowa..

I'm late to the party on the UDLX tractors, but went back and looked at your pics.

You showed one in Canada, bought by a fellow from Washington. I'm thinking that is probably the one in the collection of the Postma brothers, who are near the Canadian border. They got a lot of Molines out of Canada over the years. They had a nicely restored UDLX in the collection. Most of the tractors were sold some years ago, but IIRC, they kept the UDLX and a few other choice ones. I went to the sale- it was very interesting.
