Odd Jet Star 3

Found this posting on C-list, it is supposed to be a jet star 3, but a few things seem off. Based on photos of any other jet star, they did not have frame rails. Neither do any have that grill with that white band with MM logo in that spot. Both of those features are on u302's. Is this a hybrid of a jet star and u302? I don't know much about newer Minnies, so I'm curious.

It looks like a Jet Star 3 Super with a band from an earlier Jet Star 3 white band. The early ones from 64 & at least some of 65 had the white band. They also had the white aluminum piece in the center of the top front casting. I see no evidence of the holes for that aluminum piece in the front casting. It also has the longer torque handle and smaller steering wheel of the Super and the later key and light switch. It has an earlier shift tower with the start position and the hydraulic oil filter is mounted high like the earlier ones. Some of the real late Supers did have the full side rails & some of them before that had the start switch mounted on the front of the clutch linkage. With parts from different years, it is likely it has been assembled from several tractors. It is also possible that the frame rails are from a U302 and installed because someone didn't keep the bolts holding the original front frame to the front of the engine tight and wallowed out the bolt holes.
