UDLX - How one spent its weekend

I took UDLX 310591 to a car show over the weekend. I pondered doing a year ago and a car collector friend said it would attract a lot of attention, and it did! Quite a range of conversations from a few who had some association with one in the past, to those that had seen pictures or the program on RFD, to those that had no clue. Those that stopped to visit or read the information learned about UDLX's but those that just cruised by typically thought it was one-of-a-kind that I had put together, which might be expected at a rod and custom show. Those that said something were surprised to learn it was a factory product and in 1938 no less. Very interesting weekend and the UDLX was quite well received.

Maybe the photo will appear now.

I'm not sure whom sent me that first picture but it was possibly Don Watt in the mid 1980's..??I believe that it was in South Dakota..What year is this picture from taken at Ft Scott,KS?

1993. I was wondering if the photo was from South Dakota. It did not look like the farm of the collector we bought it from in Illinois. Would like to know more about its days in South Dakota.

You did a fantastic job on the UDLX! I'm glad you went with the correct color too. What paint did you use? By the way, I was at the Waverly show in 1988 and saw it sitting on that trailer. I remember walking around it and wondering to myself if it was even possible to restore that tractor. It must have took a lot of time and searching to find everything you needed. Again, great job!

Curtis- I saw the picture in the Wichita Eagle and it got my attention. I wish I would have known you were going to have it on display at the show. I probably could have even got my Dad to make a trip to Wichita form SW Kansas. He has the UDLX from the late Alvin Egbert and we would have both enjoyed visiting with you.

Next time I see him I'll be sharing the before and after pictures of your UDLX. Great restoration!

Heres what #310537 looked like when it was in Texas in the 1980's...Alvin Egbert was to my place in 1985..
