You got it....Thanks so much...I see that the tractor sold for $31,000 with the cab selling separately....How much did the cab bring? This was a UDLX that wasn't on the list...

Would you care to expand on the statement that "there were a set of plans to build a cab"? Years ago I built 25 sets of doors for the "R" cabs. That got to be more involved that I had originally planned....I can't imagine building a complete cab!!

They did not sell the cab. Diesel bear is correct they offered blueprints to build a cab. Don't recall a price. He must have kept the cab for possibly another UDLX? Also a year or so after auction I heard that he didn't let the UDLX go. So I would guess that maybe he still has two.

I'm starting to think that maybe a few cabs have been built..Who knows.....Theres 5-6 cabless UDLX MM's from back in the 1980's that now have cabs on them....To have a cab built would not be cheap.....I think that Paul Weiss in Iowa hunted for years to find a cab for his UDLX as it took him 25 years to restore it.....He told me that there were practically no cabs out there..He asked me to help him find one...

Whats funny is that several UOPN tractors seem to have had cabs added to them not long after being purchased while some UDLX owners took the cabs off theirs not long after being purchased....I have heard that a UDLX was parted out in the 1980's to provide parts for several other tractors?

Quite a few parts have been reproduced for UDLX's over the years, mainly hoods, side shields, front fenders, grill housing,etc..I'm almost sure that some cab doors had to be built?

They announced at the sale that Bill had a set of plans to build a cab that either went with the tractor or you could buy from him , Can't remember witch

Track record of building a cab are not good. Several attempts(most) have failed. Similar to what Butch went through on R cab doors.

Just a note the front fender/running board had to be removed to do any belt work. A couple of pins and away you go threshing! Sit in the cab out of elements listening to radio, smoking a cigar watching sheaves forked into thresher and if there were problems just honk the horn! Advanced for 1938 or what?

Doug, thanks for the info...It sounds like theres possibly another UDLX serial number that I need for my list besides 310565.

I know Bill personally. Been in his home a couple of times. Helped him get ready for the sale. I might be able to get serial numbers, if he is willing to give them out.

Thanks, this one is supposed to be #310565..I'd heard that he had a UDLX serial number plate stolen??
