Revisit: The Super Size UDLX

Found this on the interweb. Appears to be the rare MM-UTX, possibly in Camp Ripley, MN in 1940 under going testing. This tractor looks just like the 1980 picture of UTX posted below by 1206SWMO, except this one has no cab. One wonders if these are the same tractor. My understanding is only 6 prototypes were made. What I read is the 6 cyl 425 ci engine w/ 70 hp was installed in the prototype UTX tractors. It supposedly was tested @ Aberdeen Proving Ground by the Military in 1941 to see if it could pull heavy artillery around over rough terrain at speed. My understanding is only one UTX remains in existence today and it has been restored. Where is the one that has been restored? Does it get displayed at any tractor shows? Or is it in a museum somewhere.

Thanks..I wonder if any sales literature exists for a UTX..I also wonder if the cab on the UTX that I found in Kansas will fit a UDLX? Does anyone have a picture of the restored UTX in Minnesota..I know whom bought it as he contacted me for information..

I remember seeing it at a show around here in MN years ago. I think there were some pictures in the MM Corresponder several years back. I will have to see if I can find it.

This picture was taken in 1990 at Mohr's expo.

In going through those old pictures there are also several pictures of UDLX's. One of course is Mohr's, but there must have been 1 or 2 others there also.
