Heres what one family that I know went thru to get a UDLX...In the middle of winter they had to
dig the cab out of frozen ground in an old quarry which took many hours...Lots of time and money
was put in to this restoration and it turned out quite well..The next time you see a UDLX sell, this
will let you see how more than one of them started out..I sold this family my R MM with a cab and
they did a nice restoration on it..This collection was sold some years back..These pictures are from
the 1980's..

In modern view my comment is all in one paragraph..In classic view they are a mess...
I can't figure this out....The preview in classic shows things being OK..

Where was the collection from that was sold some years back? My brother-in-law's ex wife's Dad had all those tractors you mention or show when he died and that was several years back. He was in Ohio.

The one I knew of was in Ohio and only reason I was curious was the family connection, also was friends with the guys brother. So was wondering if it was from the local connection.

You would need a lot of money to buy one. Moline universal and I do have the orignal owners manual from the one my grandpa had that according to my Mom about dumped Grandpa in the creek and that is why he traded it in for a mogal. He probably was trying to use a horse drawn disk behind it instead of the one made for it that you took the rear tractor wheels off and mounted the back end of the tractor on the disk. The collection I mentioned had 2 of them and I know one went to Austraila from Ohio. That would cost a lot right there. And they were not complete or runable.

I forgot to mention that this UDLX is serial #310001 which makes it
the first UDLX built...It should have been an open cab model but
some owners put cabs on them after they had owned them for awhile...

Papa, did you realize they had an electric starter and lights back in 1918? And the early ones had a 2 cylinder while the later ones had a 4 cylinder. If you tried to pull a load from the draw bar that light rear end when you tried to turn would just slide and you would keep on going straight. That is why there was a complete line of machinery made for them that the back of the tractor mounted on and became one unit.

Went to their sale and saw it sell, a lot of MM there that day. We bought a sign, umbrella and an old hand crank R, still have them all. Think the sale was in early 2000's if I remember right. REALLY enjoyed all the MM pictures thanks,TJ
