Put jd3020 motor in ub

With enough effort you can make almost any 4 or 6 cylinder engine fit. Is there any reason for the 3020 motor? Some parts for those are getting hard to find. A 4239 (4 cylinder 239 cu in displacement) are a far sight easier to come up with and find parts for. Then of course you have the newer series of Deere engines, Cummins, Perkins, etc..

I say that because of the tall gears and low rpm but there were some in England were retrofitted with a Perkins diesel. At any rate I'm interested in how this turns out. Please let us know

Maybe consider an easier conversion, 336 diesel out of a M5, M602, or M670. It would be a lot easier conversion. The bell housing bolts would all match up. People are already making 336 crankcases fit in U's for pulling so they get the 3 bolt starter. I believe the frame rails need to be re drilled. And something needs to be figured out with the flywheel. Stock sheetmetal would all work, it would just need a return added to the gas tank. That would put it at the same horsepower as a 3020 Deere. The 336 will have better lugging too. WOT on a 336 in a 670 super is 1750 RPM. A U is 1450 I believe. So not a huge speed difference.
