Just had the power-steering rebuilt or resealed, in the front-end and control box. Now when I start the tractor, the steering wheel turns to the left and you cannot steer it to right with the engine running. The problem is probably in the control box, but where do I start?

Had a similar problem on my 4 Star.

I have a note in my manual, "Steering wheel turns itself full one way -- can't turn it. Hydraulic lines reversed at damper"

Also use a pressure gauge to set control and damper valve according to I&T manual

The problem is obviously in the control box. The spool valve is likely stuck or not centered in the housing. You won't be the first one to assemble - disassemble a control box more than once before you get it right. I think I could do it with my eyes closed I've done it so many times. Each time I was sure that I'd done it right according to the book. They're simple but they do have to be right.

I am thinking you posted on here before about your power steering. Refresh our memories. What was the original problem that you took it apart for?

It was filling the gear box and leaking out of everyplace possible. The steering worked right before rebuilding , just leaked badly.
The guy that rebuilt it will be coming to look at it. I just took the front-end of the tractor to him so he couldn't try it. He just don't know when he can come around.
